Illana is an associate in the firm’s High-Tech Department.
Illana specializes in the fields of high-tech, licensing, and technology transfer. Owing to her unique background in molecular and cellular biology, Illana combines in her work in-depth legal expertise with scientific understanding, enabling her to decipher the technological complexity underlying her clients’ innovative products.
Prior to joining the firm, Illana served as legal counsel at a technology transfer company of an academic institution, where she gained extensive experience in the commercialization of groundbreaking scientific discoveries, management of intellectual property rights, and engagements with commercial companies and investors.
Illana advises entrepreneurs, start-ups, growth companies, and established corporations throughout all stages of their business activities – from the early stages of entrepreneurship, through investments and funding rounds, to ongoing operations and commercial transactions. Her experience includes working with companies and entities in the fields of pharma, biotechnology, food-tech, ag-tech, e-commerce, fintech, renewable energy, hospitality, and venture capital funds.
In addition to her legal work, Illana is involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and serves as a legal advisor and mentor in accelerator programs and technology incubators, and lectures at professional conferences on entrepreneurship, technology, and law.
