Shimrit Golan

Shimrit is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department and Co-Head of the Planning and Zoning practice.

Shimrit has extensive experience in the fields of planning and zoning, property, and real estate law. She advises developers, companies, and public entities on planning and permitting processes, and represents clients in objections, appeals, and legal proceedings relating to plans, permits, urban renewal projects, compensation claims, and betterment levies.

Alongside her private-sector practice, Shimrit brings significant and in-depth public sector experience. She completed her legal internship in the High Court of Justice (HCJ) Department at the State Attorney’s Office, as well as in the office of the Deputy Attorney General for Legislation.

Following her admission to the Bar, she held key positions for many years at the Ministry of Justice, in the Legislative Counseling and Drafting Department and at the State Attorney’s Office (Civil Division). She also served as Chair of the Subcommittee for Appeals and as the Minister of Justice’s representative on the National Planning and Building Council.

Her combined experience in both the governmental and private sectors provides her with a broad regulatory perspective and a deep understanding of planning decision-making processes, enabling her to lead complex matters strategically and efficiently.
